it is a sad fact that it took them some 46 years to admit it. They only acknowledged 31 August 1957 as the most crucial date for all Malaysian, BUT we must remember that in 1957, sabah and sarawak had not yet received independence. On 31st August 1957, only the peninsular malaysia i.e tanah melayu had been liberated while sabah & sarawak were still under british (a proposition that i personally most prefer to be remained).
On 16th september 1963, tanah melayu, sabah & sarawak formed malaysia. It was a reunion of 3 entities which has formed one nation; Malaysia. The most significant date for sabah & sarawak people is on 16th september, the most important date for this nation called malaysia is on 16th september because that was the sacred day whereby the people of sabah & sarawak agreed to enter Malaysia and formed a federation between the 3 entities. Sabah & sarawak are not one of the states in malaysia; they are the other 2 entities beside tanah melayu. Malaysia was born on 16th september.
I often wished that our people had opposed enough to the idea of entering malaysia, sabah is better off under the administration of british. The rights of our ppl are infringed, our rich land is being ripped off all the wealth without us getting much in return.
Haha. Mcm pembangkang pula sa ne. Kekeke. But these are, of course from my point of view & not intending to offend anyone. I love sabah my motherland & i hope that God will always bless that land.

Oh gosh, its a great topic and it only took me this long to finally get to notice it, sorry belle was busy with tons of work here =)

I do agree with maduberacun, i think most sabahan share the same thought as her but then i think its because we being hold on to that thought for too long and never let go, thats what stopping most of the sabahan to advance in greater height.

haha could made a few post out of this topic. Sabah bagus bah, haha!

Hello Belle, may I enquire about 'Sumandak? First time I see that word, and I have been to Sabah and Sarawak few times too.
I know about Orang Ulus, beautiful people. Bidayus, Kadazans etc.....but not familiar with Sumandak.

Anyway, nice blog you have.
Have a nice day and keep a song in your heart, Lee.
